So everyone at work appears to be tucking into their lunchtime macdonalds and I'm wondering where the hell mine is?!
Apparently Rose called me a number of times, but she couldn't have called very loudly as I certainly didnt hear here calling while I was Charity Shop rummaging a few miles away.
Besides, wheres the initiative?
So alas...I'm hungry but will mottle on through with my cup a soup.

From high street to couture darling...
It feels like the last 12 months have passed in a complete whirlwind and I still cannot quite believe the place I stand in today.
My passion for vintage began a few years ago on an innocent shopping trip to Camden Market with my buddy Charlotte. From my teens I'd always been a high street shopper and can still remember visiting Tammy Girl and Etam religously every Saturday afternoon!
Popping into Camden that day, woke up my enthusiasm for the alternative fashion trends. Everyone was mismatched, multi-coloured and looked so bright and 'Londonish'! My dream since then was to have my very own 'unique boutique' vintage store.
Char and I scoured around the market, in and out of the backstreets looking for cool 'boutiques'. I do remember that Char bought an old second hand chinese sort of school skirt (I wonder if she still has it?) and I bought a brooch that looked like a bumblebee.....or was it a dragonfly?
We promised ourselves that day, that we would both buy some neon tutu's and go out wearing them.
We have yet to fulfill that promise.
Anywhoo, somewhere thereafter, I remember suddenly loving flowery dresses, waistcoats and beaded necklaces. I guess my passion grew from there really.
Nowadays, rather then spend my weekends at the high street, I love to spend in dowdy old charity shops, bustling jumble sales and car boot sales. I'm a digger! I love finding something right at the bottom of a box, just waiting to be found by the right person. I know both of my sisters share that thrill also.
I started to collect and before I knew it, I had a flat full of vintage hats, odd looking shoes, whacky dresses and literally 100s of handbags! I dabbled in ebay for a while and at one point became a powerseller even! But I did grow tired of fees dipping into my profits.
So one day, off I went to the big Staples office supplies store, and bought a Web Site Creator Kit. My very own online shop was to be the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life.....

Welcome to the Jolly Dolly Vintage Blog!
Having been an avid collector of all things vintage for many years, my collection has somewhat turned into an obsessional hoard of stuff and alas...the vintage online store www.dollyvintage.com was born!
My online store is due to be completed at the beginning of May and as I am so excited about the launch, I just had to have a venue to shout about all the lovely gorgeous new finds that will be available to buy once the website is up and running!
My very first blog, shares with you a photo of my friends cousin Winifred back in the 1930's in a beautiful feathered flapper dress.
I just love this image so thanks Charlotte!
